Your Guide – William Mayhem
Mayhem has performed as a magician, comedian, actor, and entertainer for over 35 years. As Bill McCrea, his non-pirate name, he performed extensively in Las Vegas with may notable acts. He have also utilized his talents for motivational speaking programs, television commercials, theater productions, corporate training videos, and anti gang/drug programs with Local & State Law Enforcement and Fire Agencies. Missing the comfort of his hometown of St. Augustine, Mayhem returned in 2007 and began performing street magic again. He rediscovered his love for performing and the character of William Mayhem began to slowly emerge. Since them, Mayhem has lent his considerable talents to a number of charities, performing groups, and, most recently, the St. Augustine Pirate and Treasure Museum.
About the St. Augustine Pirate and Treasure Museum
Relive the Golden Age of Piracy at the St. Augustine Pirate & Treasure Museum with the world’s largest collection of authentic pirate artifacts; fun, interactive exhibits like the spine-tingling Disney Imagineer-designed Below Deck sound experience of Blackbeard’s last battle; the world’s only pirate treasure chest and one of only two existing 17th century Jolly Rogers; and rarely-seen shipwreck treasures from the Florida Division of Historical Resources. Over 800 artifacts are displayed in the museum: flintlock pistols, cutlasses and swords, cannonballs, telescopes, pearls, jewels, gold doubloons. Visitors can also revisit the golden age of piracy through interactive exhibits, featuring a doctor’s office, tavern, docks, a shipwrecked island, and a cannon that visitors can electronically “fire”.
